Terms & Conditions

General Trip Policies

All guests who participate in Restoration Travels trips are expected to abide by the policies in the Risk and Indemnity Waiver. Guests may not go on any trips without the Waiver signed.

All guests will agree to follow any policies and laws in countries, states, cities, and local businesses as they stand. This policy can also be found in the Risk and Indemnity Waiver and must be adhered to.

All trips are booked on a first-come, first-serve basis while space is available. We reserve the right to refuse service for any reason.

Restoration Travels is not at any time responsible for personal possessions or money.

Restoration Travels must be notified of any dietary or religious preferences in your registration before the trip begins so that we can better accommodate your needs.

A valid passport is required to travel with Restoration Travels on all international tours. It is required that your passport not expire within six months following the return of your tour per international guidelines. US passports are taking up to 3 months to process. In general, all trips are arranged for US passport allowances and restrictions. Non-US citizens must obtain all relevant visas for all countries of visitation, and must have a valid US visa to return to their location of origin. All participants are also required to obtain necessary vaccinations according to travel requirements of respective countries. There shall be no refunds for customers who do not abide by this policy.

Luggage is subject to charges depending on airline or cruise policy. Luggage allowance is based upon the cruise or trip you are booked on. Typically you will be allowed one large piece and a carry-on. Baggage fees are not covered by trip costs at any time.

Restoration Travels reserves the right to cancel the tour in the event of insufficient tour reservations or any other reason. We will do everything we can to avoid canceling a tour. See the cancellation policy below. Restoration Travels also reserves the right to alter the dates of the tour or the itineraries of the tour at its discretion. Some of the reasons may include, but are not limited to, the unavailability of air flights or hotel spaces, increase of prices by vendors, closed sites, or any other reason deemed necessary and appropriate by Restoration Travels.

Financial Policies

All trip prices are subject to change. The prices in the trip descriptions are guidelines only, and do not reflect changing accommodation fees, travel charges, and foreign exchange rates. A final price and invoice will be issued at the time of a paid deposit.

Customers are responsible for all personal expenses incurred during the trip, including passport fees, airport departure taxes, border taxes and customs, laundry, personal snacks and beverages, room service, phone service, excess baggage fees, and any other expenses not specifically covered by the trip.

Travel costs to and from the starting location of trips, including airfare and ground transportation, will not be covered unless specifically stated that the trip covers travel fees. Restoration Travels can arrange travel for an additional charge for trips that do not have travel fees covered upon request.

Souvenirs and other purchases are not at any time covered by Restoration Travels. Guests must pay for all souvenirs or purchases not included in the trip fees, and are responsible for any arrangements of transportation of items and customs regulations.

All trips are refundable as per guidelines for specific trips. A $250 per person non-refundable deposit is required to secure your spot upon registration. Cruise deposits vary. The balance is due at least 90 days prior to the trip departure date for domestic trips, and 180 days in advance for all non-cruise international trips. Registrations received within 90 days of departure must include full payment.

While on trips, we may use services where a tip is expected. Restoration Travels does not cover any tips, though it is good manners in certain places to do so. Restoration Travels will only provide tips when providing services specifically covered by the trip. Tipping standards are explained in individual trip details by location.

Cancellation Policy

To cancel, you must notify Restoration Travels in writing. Additional charges may be assessed to cover non-refundable bookings such as transportation and hotels. In general, transportation and accommodations are not refundable once purchased. There is no refund for cancellations received less than 90 days prior to the departure of trips. Deposit is non-refundable unless otherwise stated.

    1. If you cancel: Deposit is non-refundable. After 90 days prior to the trip, the full amount is non-refundable. Transfer of the deposit to a future trip may be allowed in certain circumstances. See below for details.
    2. If Restoration Travels cancels: The full amount will be refunded. This does not include certain contingencies such as pandemics, political unrest, outbreak of war, etc.
    3. If Restoration Travels cancels due to certain contingencies: The deposit is non-refundable. It is transferrable to a future trip.

Restoration Travels highly recommends purchasing travel insurance in order to avoid trip cancellation penalties, and to protect you in the event of trip disruption, medical emergency, or unexpected departure.

In the event that Restoration Travels allows you to transfer a deposit, the deposit must be used on another trip within 12 months of the original trip date.

Safety Policies

Restoration Travels is at no time responsible for any medical or insurance costs that occur on the trip. It is strongly advised that all guests purchase traveler’s insurance or make sure that their own personal insurance will cover any medical issues on trips.

All guests must detail any allergies, medications, and serious injuries/surgeries as detailed in the Medical Form. For some trips, we may require a doctor’s note certifying that a guest may participate in a trip. We may recommend that guests not participate in certain trips due to elevated risk on a case-by-case basis.

While Restoration Travels employees will employ all life-saving interventions as they are properly certified and trained to perform, consent is required for any guests to use emergency services while on trips, which is a requirement to give as detailed in the Risk and Indemnity Form. Restoration Travels will be absolved of all financial and legal liability should emergency services be required.

Restoration Travels reserves the right to dismiss guests from trips for any reason, including illegal, disrespectful, or unsafe behavior. Guests dismissed from trips will not receive a refund of trip fees, and are responsible for their own travel expenses back to their point of origin.

Restoration Travels, its employees, and its agents shall not be liable or responsible for any loss, injury, inconvenience, illnesses, death or damage incurred or sustained during the trip. You agree to voluntarily participate in the trip at your own risk. Without limitation or waiver by Restoration Travels, you expressly agree to hold Restoration Travels, its employees, and its agents harmless from any loss, injury, inconvenience, illnesses, death, or damage incurred or sustained from any of the following events or incidents: strikes, revolts, wars, riots, insurrections, criminal acts, natural disasters, closures of airports or hotels, acts of governments or other authorities, theft, pilferage, epidemic, quarantines, customs regulations or improper passports, visas or other documents.
